Live coverage of expert and citizen testimony into Canada’s COVID-19 response begins March 16

For Immediate Release: March 13, 2023

OTTAWA: Canadians and people around the world will have the opportunity to witness a unique Canadian investigation into COVID-19 beginning March 16-18, 2023 in Truro, Nova Scotia. The National Citizens Inquiry (NCI) will hear testimony from world class experts and individual Canadians. Hearings will be broadcast live on the internet.

Expert testimony is expected to provide new insights about pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical approaches to COVID-19. Heartfelt personal testimonies will shine light on the significant impact of COVID-19 policies.

The National Citizen’s Inquiry is the first of its type in the world to investigate COVID-19. It is a citizen-led and citizen-funded initiative that is completely independent from government. An inquiry cannot be commissioned or conducted impartially by our governments as it is their responses and actions to COVID-19 which would be under investigation.

The initial set of hearings will be held at the Best Western Glengarry Truro Trade & Convention Centre, 150 Willow Street, Truro. Other hearings will follow in Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Red Deer, Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal and Ottawa.

Michelle Leduc Catlin will be the official spokesperson for the Inquiry throughout the Hearings and will be available to provide any assistance you may require for coverage. NCI personnel will be monitoring the hearings, identifying newsworthy testimony and preparing reports for use by the Inquiry and any interested media.
