Stephan connected modern agricultural practices with what he described as declining soil and food mineral content, discussed glyphosate and other agricultural chemicals as factors he believes can interfere with soil biology and nutrient uptake, and argued that consumers often cannot know the nutrient density or chemical exposure associated with conventional food. Drawing on his 23 years with Truehope, he described the company’s micronutrient approach to mental wellness, the composition and preparation of its flagship formulation, and his experience with Health Canada regulation. Commissioners questioned him about the product, organic food standards, mineral bioavailability, and the evidence supporting his claimed relationship between glyphosate use and mental-health trends.
