Mandy Geml and her family suffered unspeakable hatred and segregation for not being vaccinated, which caused incredible anxiety and fear. Mandy's daughter was in grade 8 and she was called a murderer by her teacher who claimed to not be pointing out her vaccination status but was preventing her from participating in everything the class was doing. Ms. Malkoske is a licensed practical nurse with eight years of experience in community nursing. In 2020 she worked part-time as homecare nurse while home schooling her two youngest children. Her employer required all nurses to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status. When she declined and declined regular testing (every 2 or 3 days), her shifts were cancelled for six months, leading to a substantial loss of income.

Pierre is a father of two boys and actively volunteered at their school. Pierre spoke out against the mask mandates in school and pointed out that the public health orders did not apply to public schools. The younger son experienced damage to his vocal cords due to having to yell louder through a mask, this was confirmed by a speech pathologist and an ENT specialist. Despite this, he was advised that the child should speak quieter and no mask exemption was given.
